New Life United Methodist Church
As winter draws to an end, New Life UMC hosts a Free Fish Fry for our community. We provided box meals of freshly cooked fish, french fries, hush puppies & coleslaw. We even took the left overs over to our local fire station.
Returning in September, we will be hosting a monthly lunch and learn for the 55 & older crowd called Super Senior Second Fridays! This exciting series is will offer lunch with lecture & workshop sessions geared toward subject matter specifically imperative to mature individuals.
These events will be held from 11:30 am to 1 pm on the second Friday of each month.
Lunch will be served so RSVP by contacting us.
Our entire church, hand makes our Famous Hot Tamales according to an old family recipe & we delight in sharing them with our community. We will begin making our the tamales in late August, then will sell them for $18 per dozen. Any profit from these tamales are used to support our mission projects.
"To Know Christ
And To Show Christ"
We strive to share Christ with our community of Arminda in East Knoxville. Frequently we sponsor events such as car shows, flea markets, fish fries, fall festivals, youth & children events plus we make homemade tamales for sale.
We are ever striving to meet our neighbors and share Christ through our service to the community.
3rd Tuesday each month: Food Pantry
2nd Fridays each month:
Super Senior Second Friday Lunch & Learn (starting in September)
Our Young Adults Class has lead a project to remove and replace old flooring in the bedroom of a local disabled child. Partnering with Operation Backyard, our young adult class built a ramp for a physically challenged neighbor.
May 2017, our Men completed a local Mission project building a deck & ramps in our community!
We believe God calls us to be in our community and in the world loving our neighbors and making disciples. For those in our immediate area, we have New Life Food Pantry that is open the fourth Tuesday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. During the summer months we participate in St Andrew gleaning so that we can provide fresh produce to those in need in our community. All donations are appreciated.
